One of the more challenging parts of our work at Upstate Spray Foam is scheduling your post-test. While it might seem like an extra step, the post-test is a crucial part of the NYSERDA energy program process. After we complete your pre-test (also known as your energy audit or assessment), and the energy efficiency work has been approved and installed, the post-test helps ensure everything was done properly.
What is a Post-Test?
A post-test is an essential follow-up to the energy audit and installation. Once our crew finishes the work, we need to revisit your home to verify that everything was completed according to the state’s guidelines and modeled correctly. The post-test helps us ensure that we’re leaving your home in the best condition possible. What Happens During a Post-Test?
Here’s what to expect when we come to your home for the post-test:- Reassessment of Combustible Appliances – We’ll check your appliances, such as furnaces and water heaters, to make sure they are operating safely after any insulation or air-sealing work has been done.
- Verification of Installed Work – We’ll measure and assess the insulation, air sealing, and other improvements we’ve made to confirm they meet the program’s standards and are providing the promised energy savings.
- Filling Out Paperwork – In order to finalize the project and report to the state, we’ll complete some required paperwork to officially close out the project.
